I made it! I lived through my first solo show. I hung 16 pieces of art. I only sold one but I was so concerned about getting enough pieces that I didn't even think about SELLING. The gallery owner did ask me one thought provoking question when I asked him about how to price the pieces. "What is your goal?" Crank them out to sell, improve as an artist, make a living? What is my goal? What is your goal with your art?
Show runs for the month if you make it to Charleston. Personal escort guaranteed.
You look great and so does your work. And I believe the phrase would be "I already sold one!" NOT I only sold one! Getting a solo show is quite an accomplishment in itself. So proud of you!
ReplyDeleteYou're right , Maria. Glass is half full!
DeleteJennifer, thanks for your comment on my blog. I WISH I had a group to belong to like you do !! It would keep me on track and give me people to share ideas, etc. with..... How did you get your group going???
ReplyDeleteMaria responded to your question about how we got started. We are having so much fun. The group is inspirational and encouraging. we were lucky to have found each other.
DeleteJennifer, congrats on the show! You look great - and your paintings of course ;-) !
ReplyDeleteSo you sold one on the very first day and the show is running for a months? I'd say that's a pretty good outlook! Do you have any more photos to add to the post, I'd love to see more!
Enjoy the ongoing show!
AND: I just realized you've got TWO SHOWS at the same time!!!
Thanks, Regula
DeleteIt's the luck of the HHG.
Jennifer, congratulations on your show! I wish I was anywhere near Charleston so that I could come see them in person.
ReplyDeleteGood question... what is your goal with your art. I like that.
Congratulations Jennifer! That is so great! Having a show is on my bucket list and you've already arrived there! Reading that provocative question about your goal sent me on a very eye opening Google search so thank you for that impetus. I'd love to be there as well to cheer you on but this will have to do. And YES! Send more pictures! Which one sold? House or people?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the show Jennifer. It takes a lot of work and guts to get out there.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jennifer! It's scary putting yourself out there. Way to go!
